New Wilson "L" station

The new Wilson "L" station opened Monday, October 23, 2017. It's on Wilson, just west of Broadway, and serves the Uptown neighborhood. It was a $203 million project announced in 2011. The auxiliary entrance at Sunnyside, one block south, is not yet open. The main entrance, fully accessible, is on the south side of Wilson. There's a farecard-only entrance on the north side of Wilson. The facade of Uptown Station, now called the Gerber building, was preserved, but its interior and roof were demolished. Brand-new "L" structure was built to the west and a new bridge over Broadway, a decision that prevented the continued use of this building as a train station.
